Emergency management: Improving staff reachability

As banks become increasingly aware of potential risks, they devote growing attention to the subject of crisis and emergency management, adopting measures which focus on emergency and business continuity plans designed to protect staff, central IT systems or company premises. To enable immediate response in the event of an emergency, HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG chose to implement the high-availability alerting solution FACT24. The system enables key decision-makers to be contacted more rapidly, particularly outside working hours.

Bank HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt learnt of FACT24 Notification and Conferencing Service as a result of their desire to improve the reachability of their key decision-makers in emergencies. The alerting service was smoothly integrated into existing emergency operations plans of the Business Contingency Organization division, which provides for substitute workplaces and infrastructure plus organization in the event of emergency.

Previously  the company’s own central telephone switchboard had been used to alert staff, which proved to be particularly difficult outside office hours.  But even during office hours, staff at external appointments could not always be contacted. Since the notification and alerting service FACT24 was integrated into the bank’s emergency plans, staff reachability has significantly improved, resulting in enhanced availability.

For HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt, FACT24 is the ideal service to fulfil their requirements that staff should be alerted at any time in parallel, on a variety of end-devices if necessary.
